Go and back up your work. Don't keep reading until everything you've written is backed up in at least one place that isn't your computer's hard drive AND at least one place that is.
Really. Go and back up your work. Now.
Done? Okay, now comes the hard part. Now you have to back up your writing in at least one more place. Here are some ideas if you don't already have several different backup locations:
* Google Drive, Microsoft Onedrive, Dropbox, and other online backup/syncing services. * Your phone, tablet, ereader, music player. * USB thumb drive, portable hard drive, SD card etc. * A different computer. * CD/DVD. * Print (can be difficult if you write a lot). * Email to a trusted friend or to another one of your own email addresses.
You should end up with your writing in at least three places - your hard drive (or wherever your 'working' files are), an online backup, and an offline backup.
Also remember that 'cloud syncing' (Dropbox, GDrive etc.) is not the same as 'backing up'. If something happens to your computer and you're syncing to an online account, the online files could be damaged at the same time and the changes saved. Most of these services have the ability to revert to an earlier version, though, so make sure you know how that function works.
If you have questions or comments, or need help figuring out a backup strategy, post here and your fellow FiMo'ers will do their best to help!

Amy P. Reed: Okay, I just watched the video. Lol Actually, "hey, hey" is part of a song by The Monkeys. Unfortunately, there was one more 'hey' in this one. Lol

Evil Steve: What about hey, hey, you, you, get off of my cloud? Rolling Stones!

Amy P. Reed: LOL Okay, I accept your Rolling Stones reference. I'd forgotten about that song. I was more into the Monkeys (Davy Jones = Major YUM (back in the day)) than the Stones.
